summary of BCEDC panel discussion at Monarch H.S.

Members of BCEDC presented a panel discussion on the effect of life transitions on children’s vulnerability to developing eating disorders.  Short presentations on transitions in puberty, school, family and food by panel members, were followed by audience questions and discussions.  A member of the Boulder Youth Body Alliance talked about her own experiences dealing with an eating disorder and then doing outreach to local youth on body image.

If you’re interested in having this panel discussion at your school, contact BCEDC.  Transitions are difficult times for children and families, and parents can take steps to minimize chances of problems such as eating disorders.
